Abhishek Bachchan recently shared his thoughts on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the creative industry. Speaking at the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2026, he expressed his concerns about AI and its potential consequences for actors.
The actor emphasized the need for responsible AI use, stating, “AI scares me. It should scare every actor.” He noted that while AI can revolutionize various aspects of the creative field, misuse could prove detrimental. According to him, AI could enhance behind-the-scenes work, particularly in areas like animation and special effects, ultimately saving time and reducing budgets. However, he also pointed out that AI-generated content often lacks humanity’s unique imperfections, which is an essential aspect of creativity.
Bachchan acknowledged the broader implications of AI beyond entertainment, predicting significant changes in sectors such as medicine and law. He admitted to feeling uncertain about AI’s role in filmmaking, stating, “I don’t have a complete grasp of the AI landscape, so I am not very comfortable with it.” He mentioned that he continues to educate himself on the subject.
In recent months, AI content has gained traction on social media. Bachchan’s comments followed an animated video featuring AI avatars of him, created by fans. The video showcased him in several of his iconic roles from films like “Guru,” “Bluffmaster,” “Dasvi,” and “Dhoom.”
On the film front, Abhishek Bachchan’s latest project is “Kaalidhar Laapata,” directed by Madhumita, in which he stars alongside Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Daivik Bhagela. He is also set to appear in “King,” directed by Siddharth Anand, which features an ensemble cast, including Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Abhay Verma. This highly anticipated film is expected to be released later this year, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Marflix.
