13,500 Requests for Services to Dubai Islamic During the First Quarter of 2025

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai has reported receiving over 13,500 requests for its various services during the first quarter of 2025. This initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its religious and community role, providing high-quality services that cater to the needs of individuals and institutions within the emirate.

Leading the list of the most requested services is the personal Fatwa service, with the Fatwa Administration issuing 3,259 legal opinions. This highlights the public’s trust in the department’s authority and their desire for accurate responses from recognized sources.

In the realm of promoting the message of Islam, the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture has registered the issuance of 2,267 conversion certificates, showcasing the ongoing efforts to introduce Islam and its values.

Regarding charitable activities, requests for approval to set up iftar tents or distribute meals reached 3,241, indicating significant community involvement with Ramadan initiatives. Additionally, the Charitable Institutions Administration provided 541 services for organizing charitable events, reflecting the growth in this vital sector.

In terms of guidance and counseling, the department received 258 requests for the provision of an imam, lecturer, or preacher, along with 297 new Islamic events organized by departments dedicated to religious education and Islamic institutions.

The number of participants in cultural and religious courses and competitions reached 344, demonstrating active engagement in the community awareness programs conducted by the department.

In the mosque sector, the department processed 634 requests for determining the direction of the Qibla, 63 requests for in-kind donations to mosques, and 22 requests for land allocation to construct new mosques as part of efforts to support religious infrastructure.

Furthermore, regarding Islamic institutions services, 11 new licenses were issued and 22 licenses were renewed, along with 10 requests for hiring new staff, reflecting steady growth in this sector.

These figures underscore the department’s commitment to delivering comprehensive services with high efficiency and quality. They also indicate the Islamic Affairs Department’s dedication to promptly responding to the needs of its clients and enhancing the digital and field service systems to meet community expectations and improve client experiences according to the highest standards of government excellence.

The department continues to expand its outreach to all segments of society in line with its vision of leadership in religious, charitable, and cultural work across Dubai.
