The Ministry of Community Development, in collaboration with several local organizations in Sharjah, has launched its first volunteer event at the Al-Ahli Charity School in the Samnan area. This initiative, named “Schools with a Community Touch,” is part of the “7 Volunteering Opportunities in 7 Emirates” program.
The “Schools with a Community Touch” event aims to enhance the school environment by transforming it into vibrant spaces. Over 300 volunteers, including engineers, teachers, and artists specialized in agriculture and environmental management, participated in enhancing the Al-Ahli Charity School. Their efforts included painting, gardening, and creating artistic murals, making the school a more engaging educational setting.
The “7 Volunteering Opportunities in 7 Emirates” initiative will take place from the end of October 2025 until December and aims to boost national identity, a sense of belonging, and shared community responsibility. It seeks to create a fertile environment that nurtures hidden talents and fosters creativity, through collaborations with both public and private sectors as well as nonprofit organizations.
Activities within this initiative will also include organizing “Dialogue Hours for University Students” in partnership with several governmental universities. This aims to empower students by providing them with opportunities to interact directly with prominent volunteer leaders and experts during individual dialogue sessions that focus on career guidance.
