A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck off the coast of Hokkaido, northern Japan.
Currently, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or property damage resulting from the quake.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 50 kilometers.
