77 Countries Take Part in Abu Dhabi Space Week

The ADNEC Group has announced the launch of the inaugural “Abu Dhabi Space Week 2026” in collaboration with the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO).

Scheduled for October 2026, “Abu Dhabi Space Week 2026” aims to serve as a comprehensive platform, uniting experts and specialists in air traffic management from three pivotal regions: the Middle East, Africa, and Eurasia, with the goal of enhancing dialogue and sharing innovative solutions within the sector.

This event marks a proactive step in response to the rapid advancements in air traffic management, focusing on regional integration and the adoption of the latest technologies to ensure safer, more efficient, and sustainable air transportation systems.

Hamid Matar Al Dhaheri, Executive Director and CEO of ADNEC Group, expressed pride in collaborating with CANSO to host this unique event. He noted Abu Dhabi’s strategic location as a hub connecting continents and cultures along international flight routes, stating that the ADNEC facility is fully equipped to provide a world-class platform for sharing expertise and fostering regional innovation and leadership in the aviation sector.

Simon Hocquard, CANSO’s Director General, emphasized that this event represents a significant milestone in the pursuit of meaningful regional transformation. He highlighted that “Abu Dhabi Space Week 2026” will offer a unique platform for regional stakeholders to engage, collaborate, and develop practical solutions tailored to the operational and regulatory frameworks of Africa, the Middle East, and Eurasia. “It’s a platform focused on execution and turning ideas into tangible outcomes,” he stated.

The event is expected to bring together representatives from over 77 countries, prominent air navigation service providers, regulatory bodies, airlines, policymakers, and technology innovators.

The objective of this gathering is to address real challenges facing air traffic management, including cross-border airspace coordination, digital transformation, the implementation of free-flight airspace concepts, and the enhancement of air traffic flow management.

The agenda will include a specialized exhibition showcasing innovative solutions tailored to the region’s needs, along with discussions and workshops aimed at outlining clear paths towards achieving smooth and flexible air operations.
