Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, the diplomatic advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting international and regional efforts aimed at achieving an immediate ceasefire in Sudan and ensuring the protection of civilians.
In a statement on the platform X, he remarked, “The UAE responds to claims made by the Port Sudan Authority, one of the parties involved in the conflict, and reaffirms its dedication to the international and regional initiatives for an immediate ceasefire, safeguarding civilians, holding accountable those responsible for atrocities and violations, and collaborating with partners to reach a comprehensive solution that ends this war and secures a safe future for Sudan and its people.”
The UAE has firmly rejected the unfounded allegations made in a statement from the Port Sudan Authority, which falsely accused the UAE of involvement in the ongoing conflict by allegedly supporting certain armed groups or factions.
The UAE emphasized that these baseless claims lack evidence and are merely feeble media tactics aimed at diverting attention from this authority’s direct responsibility in prolonging a civil war that has lasted over two years and thwarting all regional and international peace efforts in Sudan.
