Groq, an American AI inference platform, has partnered with HUMAIN, a company under Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), to launch OpenAI’s latest open-source models—gpt-oss-120B and gpt-oss-20B—globally on GroqCloud. This initiative promises immediate access to real-time responses, minimal latency, and local developer support within Saudi Arabia.
This launch grants developers the capability to utilize extensive 128,000-token context windows, facilitating real-time inference and leveraging integrated tools such as server-side code execution and web search. The offering is actively supported by HUMAIN, a top AI services provider in the region.
OpenAI Sets New Performance Benchmarks
According to Jonathan Ross, CEO of Groq, “OpenAI is raising the bar for performance in open-source models.” He continued, “Groq is specifically designed to efficiently run these models, making it accessible for developers right from the start. Our collaboration with HUMAIN ensures enhanced local access and support across Saudi Arabia.”
HUMAIN Aspires to Accelerate AI Integration
Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, expressed that this partnership will significantly advance AI integration in the region. “Groq provides the unparalleled inference speed, scalability, and affordability necessary to introduce cutting-edge AI solutions to the kingdom. Together, we are ushering in a new era of innovation in Saudi Arabia,” he stated.
The gpt-oss-120B and gpt-oss-20B models are optimized for high throughput on GroqCloud, with the 120B model handling over 500 tokens per second and the 20B model exceeding 1,000 tokens per second.
The pricing structure is as follows:
- gpt-oss-120B: $0.15 per million input tokens, $0.75 per million output tokens
- gpt-oss-20B: $0.10 per million input tokens, $0.50 per million output tokens
For a limited duration, Groq is offering fee waivers on calls made using OpenAI’s open models.
Groq’s extensive global infrastructure, including data centers in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, enables widespread access with low latency. This collaboration further reinforces Groq’s support for OpenAI’s open-source initiatives, continuing their work with various projects including Whisper.
HUMAIN is dedicated to providing comprehensive AI solutions that encompass data centers, large language models (LLMs), and applied AI, positioning this partnership as a crucial component of Saudi Arabia’s strategy to lead in AI intellectual property and digital frameworks.
