Artificial Intelligence as a Key Tool in Deciphering Ancient Civilizations’ Languages

Ferdy Alisi, the director and founder of the studio Ouch, stated that artificial intelligence has become a crucial tool for deciphering the languages of ancient civilizations. He highlighted its capabilities in understanding languages and symbols found in the city of Petra in Jordan, as well as in museums in Egypt, and other cultural artifacts worldwide.

During a media discussion titled “The First Art Based on Artificial Intelligence in Space,” held on the first day of the Arab Media Summit 2025, he mentioned that a team of scientists successfully employed artificial intelligence to analyze visual symbols and historical inscriptions of ancient languages that were previously indecipherable to humans. This breakthrough enabled them to create new artistic pieces that embody genuine cultural elements with a futuristic touch.

Interaction
Alisi emphasized that the relationship between the human brain and artificial intelligence transcends mere technical cooperation; it forms a creative partnership that allows artists to push beyond conventional boundaries of imagination. He pointed out that AI does not replace human creativity but rather enhances it by offering unexpected perspectives that reflect a profound understanding of artistic and cultural patterns.

Experiments
He noted that such experiments could redefine the concept of artistic works, not just as visual products but as bridges connecting ancient heritage with the digital future. Moreover, he clarified that museums and archaeological sites could evolve from mere places for contemplation into platforms for interaction and creativity, where AI serves as a tool for narrating ancient stories in a new language through innovative interactive features.
