Pakistani politician Nabil Gabol has recently expressed his frustration over the trolling he has encountered following the release of the film “Dhurandhar 2.” He claims that the character Jameel Jamali, portrayed by Rakesh Bedi, is based on him. To counter the perceived inaccuracies in the film, Gabol has announced plans to create his own movie.
In a conversation with a content creator, Gabol argued that Jameel’s revelation as an R&AW officer reflects a bias against Pakistan. He suggested that instead of confronting Pakistan militarily, India resorts to creating films. Gabol pointed out that the portrayal of Lyari and its people through this movie has not been well-received, highlighting the community’s strength and resilience.
Gabol also addressed his online critics, noting a significant amount of trolling directed at him on Indian social media. He teased a forthcoming response, likening it to the Pakistani military’s past successes, while stating that he has plans for a sequel titled “Lyari Ka Gabbar,” although he won’t label it as “Dhurandhar 3.”
Previously, Gabol had voiced his concerns over his depiction in the first “Dhurandhar” film, which, according to him, misrepresented his character. He mentioned that he did not possess the financial means to take legal action against the film, despite its negative portrayal. Gabol stated, “I was very audacious. But they haven’t shown me the way I was,” emphasizing his dissatisfaction with the film’s representation of him.
The “Dhurandhar” series features Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy infiltrating the gangs of Lyari, with a cast that includes Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and Sanjay Dutt. The latest installment has achieved box office success, reportedly earning over ₹1000 crore worldwide within just a week.
