Chaudhary Aslam’s Spouse Shares Her Thoughts on Sanjay Dutt’s Role

Former advisor to the late APJ Abdul Kalam and supporter of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Ponraj Vellaichamy, has ignited controversy on social media with inappropriate comments regarding female members of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). His remarks, which referred to these women as “prostitutes,” have drawn significant backlash, particularly from TVK leadership.

TVK chief Vijay has publicly condemned Ponraj’s statements and criticized the DMK government for its inaction. In a strong statement on his social media account, Vijay denounced Ponraj’s comments as disrespectful to women, including his own family members. He characterized Ponraj as a “mercenary” and condemned the influence of opportunistic figures within the DMK, asserting that they operate without honor.

Furthermore, Vijay emphasized that the derogatory remarks insult all women and suggested that this dispute would significantly impact the upcoming elections. He stated that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam will resolutely oppose the DMK and that the electorate will decisively reject what he termed the “evil force” of the DMK.

The remarks by Ponraj stem from an interview in which he questioned the intelligence of Vijay’s supporters, likening them to a “mob of ignoramuses.” He described these women as being overly devoted to Vijay, suggesting they prioritize him over traditional relationships. This characterization has fueled further outrage from TVK members, who consider Ponraj’s comments a violation of basic dignity and morality.

Aadhav Arjuna, the general secretary of TVK, also responded sharply to Ponraj’s claims, asserting that regardless of his past positions of responsibility, Ponraj has demonstrated a lack of fundamental respect and human decency.

As the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approach, Vijay has positioned the TVK as a genuine representative of the people’s will, framing the contest as a direct clash between the party’s ideals and the DMK’s perceived negativity. He has reiterated his commitment to the public, declaring that the connection between him and the people is inseparable.
