Cher’s Unforgettable Blunders at the 2026 Grammys: An Early Exit and a Slip-Up

Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah recently shared his experience of being disinvited from a Mumbai University event just hours before it was set to take place. In an opinion piece published in The Indian Express, he described the experience as both disrespectful and disappointing, especially since he had looked forward to engaging with students.

The event, which was organized by the university’s Urdu department and scheduled for February 1, was one that Shah was eagerly anticipating. However, he received a notification late in the evening on January 31 indicating that he was no longer needed at the event, with no explanation or apology provided. This late notice left Shah feeling not only insulted but also perplexed by the decision.

In his writing, Shah highlighted that the university later misrepresented his absence, claiming he had refused to attend. He expressed disbelief over the university’s lack of transparency, suggesting that a senior official had implied he made statements against the country. Shah responded to this accusation by challenging the official to provide evidence of any such statements.

Known for his roles in critically acclaimed films, including Nishant, Aakrosh, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Masoom, and Sparsh, Naseeruddin Shah is set to appear in the upcoming film Assi. This movie features a strong cast, including Taapsee Pannu and Revathy, and is directed by Anubhav Sinha, slated for release on February 20.

Additionally, Shah will be part of a project directed by Imtiaz Ali, where he stars alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Sharvari. This film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 12, 2024.
