Yesterday, the Ministry of Water Resources along with the Meteorological Administration of China issued the first red alert for mountain floods this year, affecting the provinces of Anhui, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, and Guizhou.
The ministry indicated that certain areas within these six provinces are expected to face a high risk of mountain floods from 8 PM Thursday to 8 PM Friday.
Authorities in the affected regions have been urged to enhance real-time monitoring, provide timely alerts, and execute evacuation procedures if necessary.
China’s weather warning system includes a four-level color scheme, where red signifies the highest level of severity, followed by orange, yellow, and blue.
