Dharmendra’s First Wife: Uncovering the Lives of Ajeeta and Vijeeta

Dharmendra’s recent passing has stirred deep emotions across the country. His devoted fans had been hopeful for his recovery after he was released from the hospital, but it came as a shock when the news confirmed his decline. Currently, the focus is on the Deol family, with many fans eager to learn more about Dharmendra’s life and legacy, including his children from his first marriage to Prakash Kaur.

Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1954 at the young age of nineteen, and together they had four children. While their sons Sunny and Bobby Deol are well-known figures in Bollywood, their two daughters, Vijeta and Ajeeta, have chosen a much different path, avoiding the public eye and media spotlight just as their mother preferred.

Vijeta Deol, Dharmendra’s elder daughter, is a notable figure in her own right. Now 63 years old, she works as a director at Rajakam Holdings and Trading Private Limited. Known affectionately as ‘Lali,’ she is married to Vivek Gill and resides in Delhi with their two children—a son named Sahil and a daughter named Prerna. The family maintains a low profile, steering clear of media engagements and public gatherings.

Ajeeta Deol, the younger sister, also embraces a life away from the limelight. Commonly referred to as ‘Dolly,’ she is a psychology teacher based in the United States. Ajeeta is married to Dr. Kiran Chaudhary, an Indian-American dentist. After their wedding, she moved to California, where they now have two daughters, Nikita and Priyanka. Ajeeta enjoys a tranquil life, focused on her family and profession rather than the entertainment industry.

The contrast between Ajeeta and Vijeta’s lifestyles and those of their brothers Sunny and Bobby is striking. While their siblings pursue careers in the film industry, the sisters’ deliberate absence from media events has led to a heightened curiosity among fans eager to learn about their lives.

As the family copes with the loss of Dharmendra, his recent health struggles became public knowledge. He was hospitalized at Breach Candy Hospital days before his death, later discharged but requiring ventilator support. His children, including Sunny and Bobby, frequently visited him. A troubling video surfaced after his release, showing Dharmendra in a vulnerable state, unconscious while Prakash Kaur was seen praying and mourning beside him—a scene that resonated deeply with fans.

Dharmendra’s journey was not just defined by his first marriage. He later married the renowned actress Hema Malini, with whom he had two daughters, expanding his family and legacy within the film industry. Dharmendra’s life encompassed a blend of personal and professional challenges, leaving a lasting impact on his family and fans alike.
