Dharmendra’s Legacy Remembered: Hema Malini and Esha Deol Mourn

The conclusion of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) attracted considerable attention as megastar Rajinikanth graced the event. His presence, marked by an earlier screening of his film “Lal Salaam,” highlighted the celebration of cinema and showcased his enduring legacy in the industry.

“Lal Salaam,” an Indian Tamil-language sports action drama, released in 2024, was directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter, Aishwarya. The film’s screening at IFFI was a proud moment for both the director and the star, adding a personal touch to the festival’s finale.

During the ceremony, Rajinikanth was honored with a special accolade in recognition of his remarkable 50-year journey in cinema. This tribute underscores the actor’s influential role and his profound impact on audiences over five decades.

Visuals shared by IFFI’s official Instagram account depicted Rajinikanth interacting with fans, further enhancing the celebratory mood of the closing event. Earlier this year, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also acknowledged Rajinikanth’s milestone, commending his iconic roles and contributions to the film industry.

In his response to the Prime Minister’s congratulations, Rajinikanth expressed heartfelt gratitude, mentioning the honor of receiving such praise from a revered leader. This exchange exemplifies the deep respect and recognition that spans beyond the entertainment realm, showcasing Rajinikanth’s influence in Indian culture.
