Dubai Electricity Youth Council Visits Children at Al Jalila Hospital

The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) Youth Council recently engaged with young patients at the Al Jalila Children’s Specialty Hospital, aiming to spread joy and uplift the spirits of the children. Youth volunteers brought gifts and participated in interactive activities to foster community engagement and strengthen common bonds.

According to Aisha Mohammed Al Ramethi, Chair of the DEWA Youth Council, “In alignment with the ‘Year of Community’ and Dubai’s social agenda 33, along with directives from the authority’s top management, we are committed to launching initiatives and events that enable our youth to actively contribute to society and engage in volunteer work. This reflects our values of giving, kindness, and empathy, while strengthening the ties of Dubai’s noble and vibrant community. The council focuses on supporting the authority’s corporate social responsibility and promoting a culture of volunteering among its employees.”

Members of the Youth Council who participated in the visit expressed gratitude to the authority for providing them with an opportunity to engage in meaningful experiences and take part in impactful initiatives that generate positive changes in the community.

Since October 2019, the Youth Council has organized 74 events, 23 awareness lectures, and 7 educational trips, along with participation in 11 global forums and conferences. Additionally, several council members have been selected to join 4 national and international programs during 2023 and 2024. The council has also initiated numerous initiatives, along with creating over 10 communication platforms to strengthen connections between its members and the youth employees of the authority.

In the first quarter of 2025, the council will implement various initiatives, including the contribution of Youth Council members to the development of the document titled “Values of Dubai’s Youth,” under the theme “My Values, My Future,” which aims to reinforce a value system that enhances the role of youth in sustainable development. Furthermore, the Chair of the council participated in discussion sessions organized by Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” as part of the “Youth for Sustainability” platform, aimed at empowering the next generation of sustainability leaders.

The sessions emphasized the importance of strategies for empowering youth in the renewable energy and sustainability sectors. Additionally, the council organized an interactive trip to Mushrif Park to promote the concept of “sustainable living” and encourage youth to adopt healthy and active lifestyles.
