Dubai’s Roads Launches Innovative Platform at GITEX Europe and AI World 2025

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to participate in a distinguished platform at the ‘GITEX Europe and AI World,’ specifically at ‘GITEX Berlin 2025.’ This global event is a pivotal gathering for startups in Europe, representing a premier trade show in technology, startups, and the digital investment sector. It will take place from May 21 to May 23, 2025, featuring exhibitors, companies, investors, speakers, and experts from over 135 countries focusing on topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data, the Internet of Things (IoT), digital cities, and other technological themes.

At the exhibition, the RTA will showcase five outstanding initiatives and projects aimed at integrating generative artificial intelligence and virtual metaverse technologies. These include the “Customer Journey for Air Taxi,” providing agency services through an enhanced digital experience via “Interactive Kiosks,” “Palm Print Payment for Public Transport,” “Traffic Flow Enhancement through Artificial Intelligence,” and the initiative to “Enhance the Experience of Pedestrians and Cycling Path Users.”

According to Salah Al-Marzouqi, Director of Strategy and Technology Governance at the RTA’s Corporate Technical Support Services, the authority is committed to achieving its vision and mission through GITEX Europe. This aims to position the city as the leading smart city in transport and mobility systems worldwide, aligning with its digital strategy (2030) that corresponds with Dubai’s digital strategy. This initiative seeks to develop a scalable and flexible digital infrastructure along with an Artificial Intelligence Strategy (2030), which comprises 81 projects and initiatives aimed at establishing global leadership in AI-enhanced mobility.

Customer Journey for Air Taxi

The RTA’s platform will present the “Customer Journey for Air Taxi” initiative, designed to provide an innovative futuristic vision for the air taxi service experience. It focuses on refining the customer experience at all service stages, ensuring the delivery of a comprehensive service that reflects the highest standards of quality and innovation while leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and convenience for users.

Interactive Kiosks

Additionally, the platform will feature the “Interactive Kiosks” initiative, crafted to offer all RTA services in an innovative manner that emphasizes ease and flexibility. This aims to improve the user experience by facilitating access to services and enhancing efficiencies through modern technologies that meet customer needs promptly and conveniently, 24/7.

Palm Print Payment for Public Transport

Another highlight will be the “Palm Print Payment for Public Transport” initiative, which aligns with the development of the NOL card payment systems. This aims to provide a secure and convenient travel experience that elevates users’ experiences to global standards, implementing palm print payment technology that verifies user identity swiftly and accurately, linking the palm print to the users’ accounts within the NOL system.

Artificial Intelligence for Traffic Flow Enhancement

The RTA will also introduce the initiative employing artificial intelligence to enhance traffic flow. Utilizing advanced algorithms, this project aims to reduce congestion and enhance safety, where AI systems analyze real-time data to control traffic signals and offer predictive insights for the effective management of mobility on the emirate’s roads.

Enhancing the Experience of Pedestrians and Cycling Path Users

Furthermore, the RTA platform will showcase the initiative focused on “Enhancing the Experience of Pedestrians and Cycling Path Users.” This includes a multifunctional pole designed to provide various technological features, contributing to an enhanced experience for pedestrians and users of cycling paths. This pole will incorporate amenities such as a canopy, seat, USB ports, camera, air pump, and essential maintenance tools for cyclists.
