Vision and Purpose
Dr. Shatha Al-Mutawa, founder and director of the Kutubna Cultural Center, emphasized that the themes of the exhibition are significant and inspirational, reflecting the roles of Arab artists in societal enlightenment and celebrating the value and roles of women.
The exhibition also highlights the uniqueness and distinction of their works, which rival the masterpieces of global artists displayed in prominent museums around the world. This exhibition conveys an essential inspiring message reaffirming women’s roles and importance in our societies and celebrates the artists’ contributions alongside enhancing the recognition of Arab artists’ works, which have often been overshadowed by European and American names popular in art history literature.
Shatha added, “We take pride in being part of introducing our community to these Arab artists whose works are highly esteemed, characterized by captivating beauty and undeniable influence in the art and museum scenes of the Arab world.”
Through this event and other similar initiatives, we aim to cultivate a community of children and youth immersed in Arabic art, recognizing the contributions of Arab pioneers and their pivotal roles within their societies and on the global artistic and cultural stage.
