The Arab Republic of Egypt has condemned the remarks circulating in certain Israeli media referring to the concept of a “Greater Israel,” underlining its commitment to fostering peace in the Middle East.
In a statement released by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs this evening, Egypt called for official clarifications regarding these remarks, citing their potential to incite instability and reflect a refusal to embrace the path of peace, as well as an insistence on escalation. This stance contradicts the aspirations of regional and international actors working towards security and stability for all peoples of the region.
Egypt emphasized that the only pathway to peace is through a return to negotiations, a cessation of hostilities in Gaza, and the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. This is rooted in the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions.
