Dr. Fatima Al-Falasi, Director General of the Dubai Women’s Association, emphasized the organization’s commitment to nurturing the younger generation, highlighting that safeguarding the health of youth is a top priority for the association and an investment in the future.
This statement came during the conclusion of the association’s thirteenth annual health forum for women, which took place under the theme “Healthy and Happy Children.” The forum, hosted over two days at the association’s headquarters in the Al-Hamriya area of Dubai, aligned with the “Year of Community” and reinforced the national policy efforts aimed at promoting child health and improving quality of life. It also supported Dubai’s social agenda focused on establishing a more efficient and higher-quality healthcare system that meets global standards through the encouragement of healthy lifestyles and the enhancement of healthcare, preventative services, and mental and physical support.
Health and Happiness
She commented, “Caring for children is an investment in the future; all the initiatives and health programs we implement today will result in a more aware, happier, and healthier generation tomorrow.”
Al-Falasi noted that the continuous development of specialized forums and programs shines a light on critical health challenges faced by children and mothers. She emphasized that the association continually strives to provide value-added services that enhance the quality of life for Emirati families, thereby supporting national objectives of creating a sustainable healthy community.
Additionally, the director stated that this forum is part of the association’s initiative to launch impactful projects that contribute to the health of women and children, reaffirming that prioritizing the younger generation aligns with the vision of the country’s leadership.
Al-Falasi added, “In every forum, we aim to address health issues that directly affect families,” mentioning that the second day of activities included free services and medical screenings for mothers and their children to maximize community benefit.
A Significant Step
Participating physicians highlighted that this year’s forum focused on both the physical and mental health of children, noting that raising mothers’ awareness about proper nutrition and chronic disease prevention is a crucial step in nurturing a healthy and happy generation.
They further noted that the substantial turnout for the workshops and free screenings during the forum reflects the awareness of Emirati families and their commitment to their children’s health and well-being.
Alongside academic sessions, the forum featured interactive workshops and various educational activities for mothers and children, as well as free health screenings for attendees. This commitment underscores the association’s ongoing efforts to serve the community and foster a health-focused culture, contributing to the happiness and well-being of children in alignment with the UAE’s vision of building a healthy and sustainable society.
