German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated on Saturday that the threat posed by drones is significant, prompting the country to implement measures for self-defense.
Officials across Europe have raised the alert level following incidents in Denmark, where drone sightings disrupted air traffic multiple times over the past week. German authorities are also investigating similar drone observations.
Dobrindt told reporters in Berlin, “The threat level regarding drones can be classified as significant.”
He added that Germany is considering amending aviation security laws to enable the military to intercept and neutralize drones.
He emphasized that this is about ensuring protection for critical infrastructure and large gatherings.
