Dr. Mansour Al Awar, the President of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, led a panel discussion titled “Redefining University Leadership for the Future.” This session featured distinguished university leaders from various member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, as part of the sixth conference of university heads organized by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat.
The discussion focused on the fundamental changes currently affecting the higher education sector worldwide and the renewed role that university leadership must embrace to keep pace with rapid transformations linked to technology, artificial intelligence, flexible education, and the evolving job market.
Dr. Mansour Al Awar emphasized that “university leadership has transcended traditional academic management. It is now a forward-looking responsibility that requires innovative thinking, the ability to forge partnerships, and a keen awareness of changing dynamics to ensure the sustainability of universities and their impact on society and humanity.
