A Philadelphia engineer, named Philly John, discovered that he had won a $50,000 prize in the Powerball lottery after forgetting his ticket during a stop in Maryland.
Philly John was traveling from Pennsylvania to Maryland when he made a stop at a store called Woodlawn Mart in Baltimore County to purchase snacks and some lottery tickets.
More than a week later, according to People magazine, while cleaning his car, he stumbled upon a bag of tickets he intended to discard. Before tossing it away, he decided to check the Maryland lottery app and was shocked to find out he had won the $50,000 prize.
Philly John expressed his immense joy upon realizing he had won. He mentioned that he typically selects numbers that hold personal significance, such as family members’ birthdays. However, he has not yet shared the news with his family and plans to use his winnings for paying off debts and saving.
