Dil Raju recently made headlines by announcing a significant distribution deal for the upcoming film “Toxic,” starring Yash. Under this agreement, his company, Sri Venkateswara Creations (SVC), will distribute the film in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The deal reportedly entails a payment of ₹120 crore to the producers, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, raising eyebrows among industry insiders.
During a promotional event for another project, Raju faced skepticism regarding his hefty financial commitment for “Toxic.” A reporter humorously suggested he should be called “Dare Raju” due to the boldness of his investment, prompting laughter from the audience. Despite the skepticism from media personnel, Raju maintained confidence in his decision and pledged transparency by offering to share his bank statement to prove the validity of the deal.
SVC’s acquisition of the distribution rights for “Toxic” marks a significant achievement as this is their largest venture for a film not originally in Telugu. Several major distributors, including PVR Inox, were vying for the same rights, but SVC ultimately secured the deal. The film’s growing anticipation is attributed to Yash’s rising stardom following the success of “KGF 2,” which has only intensified audience expectations for his next release.
“Toxic,” directed by Geetu Mohandas, features an impressive cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth. The film was shot in Kannada and English, with plans for releases in various South Indian languages and Hindi. Scheduled to hit theaters on March 19, “Toxic” will face competition from “Dhurandhar: The Revenge,” starring Ranveer Singh.
The excitement surrounding “Toxic” reflects the robust demand for Yash’s films within the Indian cinema landscape, suggesting a strong opening for the movie in its targeted markets. As the film’s release date approaches, industry watchers will be keen to see how it performs against its competitors.
