Hope Remains: A Global Documentary Showcasing the Humanity of the UAE in Gaza

The International Humanitarian Affairs Council has released a documentary that highlights the humanitarian efforts and initiatives provided by the United Arab Emirates to the residents of Gaza, who are suffering from the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The film tells real stories of individuals reflecting thousands who have received support from the UAE in its historical humanitarian role in aiding the Palestinian people.

Titled “Hope Remains,” the documentary was aired on the global Discovery Channel, showcasing the international acknowledgment of the UAE’s leading and continuous support for the people of Gaza. As of November last year, the UAE accounted for 42% of the total humanitarian aid delivered to the region since October 2023, amounting to $828 million.

This documentary embodies the values of giving and brotherhood that the UAE and its people stand for. It provides an intimate look into the lives of beneficiaries from the UAE’s initiatives, featuring interviews with workers involved in this humanitarian journey. Extraordinary and unprecedented scenes reveal the transformation experienced by many who benefited from assistance, addressing both health and psychological aspects. Viewers will hear firsthand accounts from those who received support from the UAE, sharing their challenging experiences during the war and the despair they felt, contrasted with their renewed hope, all narrated through a storytelling approach that combines lived experiences and narrative.

The International Humanitarian Affairs Council plans to release “Hope Remains” in both international and national versions in Arabic and English on their social media channels and broadcast it on national television throughout June.

This film is part of the Council’s efforts to shed light on the humanitarian work undertaken by various Emirati organizations. It recognizes the important role these efforts play in conveying the UAE’s humanitarian message based on fraternity and solidarity among friends and brothers across the globe.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that the “International Humanitarian Affairs Council” launched the “In the Forefront” last year, a series of short documentary films that profile individuals working and volunteering in humanitarian and relief initiatives carried out by Emirati entities both in the UAE and in the Republic of Egypt and Gaza. These films emphasize contributions that aid the Palestinian people and empower initiatives to achieve their goals, and they have been broadcast on national television and digital platforms.

The documentary series exemplifies the strong social fabric of the UAE, founded on the principles of goodness, cooperation, and human solidarity with friends and brothers during times of hardship and crisis.

The UAE continues to provide humanitarian and relief assistance to the people of Gaza, following the guidance of its wise leadership, with a focus on alleviating the suffering of the most vulnerable segments of the population, especially children, who make up about half of the sector’s population. UAE humanitarian teams are mobilizing to deliver all necessary support in line with the UAE’s commitment to aid its brothers in times of crisis.
