The “Al Zamli Date Grading” contest, held as part of the Liwa Date Festival, witnessed intense competition among farmers, with 37 farms participating from various regions of the country, as part of the festival’s twenty-first edition.
The winners were announced by Obeid Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector, and Mohammed Jumaa Al Mansoori, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, along with several representatives from participating organizations and festival attendees.
This year marked the inaugural inclusion of the “Al Zamli Date Grading” contest within the festival’s competitions, aimed at broadening participation to encompass a wider range of farmers. A total prize pool of 367,000 dirhams was designated for the competition, distributed among 15 winners.
