The drug enforcement units within the Ministry of Interior successfully executed a specialized operation that thwarted an illicit attempt to distribute narcotic pills within the country. Field teams identified suspicious activities involving two individuals of Arab nationality, who were found to be connected to an international drug trafficking network.
The security forces managed to raid two locations, one of which was used for storing the narcotic pills during the suspects’ attempt to unload and prepare them for distribution within the country. Another site was targeted where a piece of construction machinery (a digger) was found concealing an additional quantity of drugs, based on confidential information gathered by the task force.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted that they had accomplices who organized the shipment and smuggled it from Hamburg to a port in the country. One of them had entered the country on a visitor’s visa specifically to carry out this operation, while the mastermind behind the network resides outside the country, overseeing the financing and overall management of the operation.
A responsible source from the Ministry of Interior emphasized the significance of international cooperation in combatting drug trafficking to prevent cross-border criminal networks from conducting their operations. Relevant departments will continue the investigation to apprehend the suspects located outside the country, collaborating with international counterparts through necessary legal procedures.
