His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, reviewed the progress of the Zayed National Museum as it prepares for its official opening in December in the cultural district of Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi.

During his visit, His Highness listened to a presentation about the permanent exhibit halls that highlight significant milestones in the national development journey, reflecting the vision of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace. The museum emphasizes his enduring values of environmental sustainability, human empowerment, promoting tolerance, fostering cultural dialogue between nations, and supporting humanitarian initiatives globally.

His Highness emphasized that the Zayed National Museum serves as a vibrant representation of the legacy of the founding father, bridging generations by sharing ancestral wisdom from the past to the present, acting as an inspiration for future generations.

He reiterated that this cultural landmark underscores the leadership’s commitment to investing in the cultural sector as a vital part of the comprehensive national development agenda.

During the visit, His Highness also met with several national staff working on the project. He praised their efforts in successfully launching this new cultural venue, which enhances the cultural landscape of the emirate and bolsters Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for cultural and civilizational dialogue.

The museum features six permanent exhibition halls, a special gallery for temporary exhibitions, and an outdoor gallery called “The Path” that stretches 600 meters. It narrates the story of the UAE over 300,000 years of human civilization and history.

The museum aims to educate visitors about the history of the UAE through an interactive journey that combines archaeological artifacts and historical items, showcasing the oldest evidence of human existence in the region and the thriving ancient civilizations throughout centuries. It also highlights the connections formed through trade routes while celebrating the unique elements of the UAE’s heritage and culture.
