Launch of the “Electronic Linking Project for Verifying Academic Qualifications of Employees in the Private Sector

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has unveiled an electronic linkage project for verifying academic qualifications. This initiative marks a significant advancement toward creating a fully integrated digital employment environment that aligns with the UAE’s vision for digital transformation and aims to eliminate bureaucracy. The new system allows employers in the private sector to verify the authenticity of employees’ academic credentials, whether these were obtained within the UAE or abroad, through an electronic platform.

This project represents a further step in delivering efficient government services that cater to labor market needs, ensuring that employees meet high professional standards and enhancing the nation’s role in fostering an attractive work environment for investments. It will provide reliable and effective employment services, supported by the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, which oversees work permit verification, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which serves as the primary authority for academic validation, and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, which underpins the digital framework alongside the private sector.

His Excellency Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Labor Market Operations, stated that the introduction of this project is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance labor market efficiency and refine digital services for clients. This aligns with the state’s forward-looking goals in the labor sector, attracting talents, and ensuring its continuous development under the highest standards of integrity and competitiveness.

He further explained that the electronic verification project for academic qualifications stands out as an innovative endeavor rooted in integrated service development, responding to evolving labor market needs amid rapid advancements and intense competition, which is increasingly demanding specific competencies to meet the requirements of the new economic phase. Additionally, the project supports the ministry’s pioneering regulatory framework aimed at mitigating negative practices within the labor market.

<pIn response, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Mulla, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, highlighted that the new initiative will enhance the accuracy, speed, and reliability of academic qualification verification. This will enable sectors to attract competencies that match their needs and bolster their competitiveness.

He remarked, “This initiative represents another significant step towards achieving integration between academic paths and labor market demands, a priority focus for our ministry.”

Dr. Al Mulla added, “The launch of this innovative service is aligned with our efforts to reach the objectives of the government’s bureaucracy reduction program and to deliver superior services that exceed client expectations. We will continue collaborating with federal and local partners as well as various economic sectors to introduce more innovative initiatives that enhance the contribution of the higher education sector in achieving national goals and visions.”

Employers in the private sector and qualified workers holding academic degrees from outside the UAE, categorized under skills levels (1-4) according to the National Qualifications Framework, can access this service via the digital platforms of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (website and mobile application) or through business service centers spread across the country, adhering to specific conditions and regulations available on the ministry’s website.

In subsequent phases, the service will also be applicable to degree holders classified under skills levels (1-4) within the UAE. The project offers numerous advantages to both government entities and the private sector by ensuring the accuracy and validity of academic qualifications employed in recruitment through direct electronic verification, thus ensuring employment reliability, reducing paperwork, and simplifying the service within the ministry’s systems through a unified verification process that involves a one-time fee. Furthermore, it enhances collaboration between governmental and private entities, ensuring efficient verification processes, which in turn bolsters labor market flexibility and efficiency.
