The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has introduced the “Seasonal Network” initiative for maritime transport services. This initiative leverages modern and flexible scientific methods that allow for agile institutional responses to the operational season and various factors that may affect planned services and demand during different seasons, holidays, and events in the emirate.
The study aimed at establishing and developing the seasonal network for maritime transport services involved the creation of internal algorithms designed to analyze and process vast amounts of data from multiple sources. These algorithms will facilitate the formulation of a flexible operational plan for the maritime transport network and can also be utilized for forecasting future data in the sector. Each season will see the application of these algorithms individually, ensuring that they meet customer needs while simultaneously enhancing the utilization rates of maritime transport services and reducing operational costs.
The methodology used for this project included predictive analysis techniques to understand the dynamics of maritime transport data and forecast the impact of changes on operational timings. The plan specific to the summer season will be implemented today, utilizing extensive data that encompasses all relevant details regarding maritime transport services.
