Leading UAE Diplomat Shows Solidarity with Jordan in Light of National Security Threats

An Emirati official reiterated on Tuesday that the UAE stands firm and resolute against any actions aimed at threatening the stability and prosperity of Jordan.

On the same day, Jordan revealed that it had detained 16 individuals in connection with a plot that posed a risk to national security, which involved the use of rockets, explosives, and a facility for drone production.

The General Intelligence Department indicated that the plans involved “efforts related to the local manufacturing of rockets” and added that those involved were being trained both within Jordan and abroad.

Dr. Anwar Gargash, the Diplomatic Adviser to the UAE President, emphasized the profound historical and fraternal relationship between the UAE and Jordan, stating that their security concerns are intertwined.

A source from Jordanian security mentioned that the detainees had links to Hamas, the Palestinian militant organization currently engaged in conflict with Israel. This group has been accused of inciting protests against the Jordanian government, particularly within its Palestinian community.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, has strongly condemned the conspiracy that aimed to disrupt the peace of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, warning against its potential to incite chaos and destruction.

In his statement, Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the UAE’s steadfast position of condemning these violent acts, categorically rejecting all forms of terrorism and violence that threaten security and stability in violation of international law.
