Localization: 2500 Companies Registered in the ‘Labor Housing’ System

Recent data from the Labor Market Observatory under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation indicates that the number of companies registered in the “Labor Accommodation” system has reached 2,500. These establishments provide top-notch standards of comfort, health, and safety for over 1.9 million workers across various regions of the country.

This increase showcases the awareness and commitment of businesses to adhere to approved labor accommodation requirements and highlights their role in improving the quality of life for workers. This, in turn, positively impacts their mental well-being and productivity, reinforcing the United Arab Emirates’ status as an attractive location for living, working, and investing.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has implemented a range of policies and legislation in collaboration with its partners in both federal and local government sectors. The goal is to enhance the quality of life in labor accommodations in alignment with the UAE government’s aspirations and vision to create a leading and appealing working environment.

A national database for labor accommodations has been established by the ministry in partnership with relevant federal and local governmental bodies. This database serves to unify efforts and enhance supervision over the labor accommodation environment, ensuring an improved quality of life and well-being for workers.

Additionally, the ministry has launched the electronic “Labor Accommodation System,” which is recognized as the first national platform for registering labor accommodations. The category of “Labor Accommodations” has been included in the “UAE Award for Excellence in the Labor Market,” aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the Emirati labor market while honoring outstanding practices related to workplace environment and protecting workers’ rights. This initiative seeks to enhance the welfare and quality of life for the private sector workforce, as well as increase productivity and efficiency within the country’s labor market.

The ministry is committed to fostering constructive partnerships with private sector companies and offering awareness campaigns to support them in complying with regulations and ensuring that labor accommodations meet specified standards.
