Major Buildings Damaged at Khondab Heavy Water Plant in Iran

WhatsApp has rolled out a variety of new features and enhancements in its Chats, Calls, and Updates sections, improving user interaction and connectivity on the platform.

Chats: Boosted expression and versatility

The Chats section, known for its secure and encrypted messaging between users, now encompasses multiple innovative tools. Animated emojis have been introduced, adding movement to emojis to create more vibrant interactions, according to a WhatsApp announcement.

Note: Starting July 1, WhatsApp Business will implement significant pricing updates.

Users can also craft animated stickers from their favorite videos using the new animated sticker maker, elevating customization options. Additionally, there are avatar-based social stickers that can be shared in private chats, but only with contacts who have avatars and are saved in the user’s contact list.

Creating groups has been simplified; users can initiate a group by only naming it and adding members later either directly or via a shared link. The process for sharing multiple photos or videos has also been improved, allowing users to include a collective caption, with recipients able to react or respond either to the entire group or to individual pieces of media.

Calls: Fun filters and effects enhance video experiences

In the Calls section, WhatsApp has launched six new filters and six playful effects for video calls and photo captures, enhancing the dynamism of visual communication.

This section remains a central point for making calls, sharing links, and reviewing call history.

Updates: Enhanced control over statuses and channels

The Updates section, which includes Status and Channels, now offers additional methods for engagement. Photo polls enable channel administrators to attach images to each poll option, making the polling experience more visual and appealing.

Users can also mark their favorite channel updates for easy future reference. WhatsApp has additionally introduced support for group mentions in Status. When a group is mentioned, all members receive a notification in the group chat and can share the Status within their own feeds.

WhatsApp invites users to stay alert as more features and enhancements are anticipated in the near future.
