Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President of the State and Deputy Prime Minister, has announced the establishment of a specialized public prosecution office named the “Abu Dhabi Labor Prosecution.” This new office will focus on investigating and prosecuting matters related to labor and domestic workers.
This initiative is part of the broader efforts by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department to enhance and expand specialized prosecution offices. It aims to ensure that judicial processes are swift and efficient while delivering precise and comprehensive justice in vital sectors, accommodating the unique nature of each field. This move will support the judicial framework in the emirate and protect the rights of all parties involved, adhering to the highest standards of transparency and fairness.
According to the announcement, the Abu Dhabi Labor Prosecution will handle offenses outlined in the Federal Decree-Law No. (33) of 2021 concerning the regulation of labor relations, as well as the Federal Decree-Law No. (9) of 2022 pertaining to domestic workers. These cases will fall within the geographic area of Abu Dhabi. The office will be staffed by at least one senior prosecutor, alongside a sufficient number of prosecutors and specialized personnel to assist in its operations.
