Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, the Crown Prince of Fujairah, emphasized the significance of studying the history of civilizations as a means to understand human development and foster intercultural dialogue. He noted that tracing humanity’s journey from its prehistoric roots to contemporary global civilization is fundamental for building a future grounded in communication and tolerance among peoples.
This statement was made during his attendance at a lecture titled “The History of Civilizations: From Prehistoric Roots to Global Civilization,” presented by Dr. Khazael Al-Majdi, an academic and researcher specialized in the sciences and historical studies of old religions and civilizations. The event took place at the Rameela Palace in Fujairah, as part of the Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Council.
He also highlighted the keen interest of Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, in historical themes and cultural identity. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed the ruler’s unwavering commitment to supporting cultural initiatives that enhance the community’s awareness of its human heritage and establish the UAE as a global hub for culture, thought, and civil dialogue.
The session addressed several key topics, including the evolution of civilizations throughout human history up to the modern era, an analytical reading of significant civilizations that shaped human consciousness, discussions on the transition from a unipolar to a multipolar world, and an overview of current civilizational landscapes and their future prospects amid global challenges and changes.
Dr. Ali bin Nayef Al Tanniji, Director of the Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi Council, stated that the organization of this session is supported by the Crown Prince of Fujairah and is part of the council’s commitment to hosting intellectual events that contribute to raising awareness, spreading knowledge, and reinforcing values of cultural dialogue within the community.
Attendees of the lecture included Dr. Ahmed Al Ziyoudi, Director of the Crown Prince’s Office of Fujairah, and Abdullah Al Ali, General Director of the National Archives and Library, along with several officials and intellectuals.
