The Mohammed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award, part of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, has announced the opening of nominations for its tenth edition. Under the theme “10 Editions Are Not Just a Number,” the award celebrates a decade of achievement and dedication in promoting the Arabic language and reinforcing its global presence as a language of knowledge, creativity, and innovation.
The title of this tenth cycle encapsulates the core idea of honoring this significant milestone; the number “10” is viewed not merely as a time span but as a symbol of an enduring journey filled with impactful initiatives that have transformed the cultural and linguistic landscape both in the Arab world and beyond. This decade marks a continuous effort to serve the Arabic language, encompassing areas from inspiration and creativity to digital empowerment, scientific research, and global influence.
Throughout the previous nine editions, the award has attracted 17,200 submissions and recognized 90 winners from various countries around the globe. It has honored countless notable figures in the field of Arabic language, establishing itself as a global platform that celebrates excellence and enhances the standing of Arabic across educational, technological, media, and cultural fields.
Bilal Al Budoor, the Secretary-General of the Mohammed bin Rashid Arabic Language Award, stated that the achievements of the award over the past decade reflect the visionary support of the UAE’s leadership, particularly His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness has made the empowerment of the Arabic language a sustainable national and cultural project. The award has successfully translated his directives into tangible accomplishments, revitalizing Arabic as a language capable of expressing contemporary thoughts and engaging with modern scientific and technological advancements.
From its inception, the award has carried a message that extends beyond mere celebration, evolving into a developmental initiative aimed at building an Arab individual who is proud of their identity while open to the world. The award invites individuals and organizations globally to submit their nominations through its official website, covering categories that include innovation in education, scientific research, media, publishing, and technology. Applications will be accepted starting from November 10 and will remain open for four months.
