Potential Successors To Rehman Dakait: Who Will Take The Lead

Kangana Ranaut, a prominent actor and BJP MP from Mandi, recently shared exclusive photos featuring herself and veteran actress Hema Malini. The images, posted on Kangana’s Instagram Stories, were taken during a break amid Parliamentary sessions, showcasing a lighter moment between the two stars.

In the first photograph, they appeared relaxed on a couch, both smiling for the camera. Kangana was dressed in a lavender sweater paired elegantly with a peach saree, while Hema Malini adorned a printed saree in yellow and green. Accompanying the post, Kangana wrote, “Sansad mein sukoon ke kuch pal with #dreamgirl” and tagged Hema, who is affectionately referred to as the “dream girl” by her fans and colleagues in Bollywood. A subsequent selfie featured Kangana with the hashtags #dreamgirl and #wintersession2026, alongside Kishore Kumar’s song “Dream Girl” as background music.

Kangana has consistently expressed her admiration for Hema Malini. Following the death of actor Dharmendra, Hema’s husband, in December last year, Kangana attended a prayer meeting held in New Delhi on December 11. There, she offered floral tributes and interacted with Hema and her daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol, discussing the legacy left by Dharmendra.

In early 2024, she praised Hema by sharing a nostalgic video from the latter’s early twenties in which she showcased her dance performance. Kangana highlighted Hema’s enduring talent, stating that even at her age, she could captivate audiences with long performances. Kangana boldly criticized those who belittle artistic expression, emphasizing that such attitudes reflect a shallow mindset.

Kangana also came to Hema’s defense in response to misogynistic comments attributed to Congress leader Randeep Surjewala. She lauded Hema for her lifelong dedication to the arts and condemned the derogatory remarks aimed at women, stressing the unacceptability of such attitudes towards an elderly artist.

Turning to Kangana’s professional life, she was recently seen portraying Indira Gandhi in the film “Emergency,” released on January 17 this year. The actress is also preparing for her Hollywood debut in the horror drama “Blessed Be the Evil,” where she will star alongside Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone. Production for this project is slated to begin in New York this summer, with Anurag Rudra at the helm as director.
