Priyanka Chopra Takes on a Thrilling New Role as Rita Repulsa in Disney Series

Soha Ali Khan recently honored her late father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, a celebrated former Indian cricket captain, on what would have been his 85th birthday. She visited the iconic Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata, sharing her heartfelt tribute on Instagram.

In a touching video, Soha walked through the empty stadium while clips from the legendary 1974 Test match between India and the West Indies played in the background. This match is revered in Indian cricket history, marking one of the country’s most significant victories. The video captures her seated in the stands, reflecting on her father’s legacy, as she pauses in front of a portrait of him.

Soha accompanied her video with an emotional note dedicated to her father. She wrote, “On your birthday, Abba, I wanted to stand where the game remembers you. Eden Gardens may be empty today, but it is never silent for you.” Her words highlight Mansoor’s deep connection with the venue, where he captained the Indian team numerous times, particularly reminiscing about the memorable December 1974 Test match against a formidable West Indies team.

Reflecting on a dramatic moment during that famous match, she recounted an incident where a ball from Andy Roberts struck her father’s face, resulting in a fractured cheekbone. Despite the injury, he returned to lead the team to an impressive victory by 85 runs. Soha described this episode as an embodiment of her father’s courage and leadership, calling it a timeless example of “grit and lion-hearted (or perhaps tiger-hearted) captaincy.”

Her tribute concluded with a heartfelt message: “The stands still remember you, the cricketer. I remember my Abba. Both belong here. Happy birthday, Abba.” Soha’s post resonated with her followers, including her sister-in-law, actor Kareena Kapoor, who reacted with cheerful emojis.

Soha’s sister, Saba Ali Khan, also paid tribute to their father via Instagram. She shared several photographs along with a touching note that expressed her deep sense of loss. Saba referred to Mansoor as “the hero of my universe” and acknowledged his profound impact on many lives, describing him as the captain not only of the Indian cricket team but also of their family.

In her post, Saba emphasized her ongoing remembrance of her father, stating, “Too many random pictures shared by some, taken by others…and to my tribute to you, as I do the Quran khwani and sadqa each year. Both in Bhopal and Pataudi, where you belong.” This captures a tradition of remembrance that honors their father’s legacy.

Soha Ali Khan, daughter of Mansoor Ali Khan and renowned actress Sharmila Tagore, is celebrated for her performances in various films and web series. Since marrying actor Kunal Kemmu in 2015, the couple has welcomed a daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, further entwining their family’s narrative. Soha’s work includes notable films such as “Mumbai Meri Jaan” and “Rang De Basanti,” reflecting her versatility as an actress in both film and digital media.
