Qatar Sends Message to the United Nations and Security Council Regarding Israeli Aggression

Qatar has sent a formal message today to Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Sangjin Kim, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the UN, who is also the President of the Security Council for this month, regarding a “cowardly” Israeli attack on residential buildings housing members of Hamas’s political bureau in Doha.

According to Qatar News Agency, the message was delivered by Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN. She emphasized that Qatar is requesting the distribution of this message to all members of the Security Council and for it to be issued as an official document.

In the communication, Qatar condemned the “criminal assault” in the strongest terms, citing it as a blatant violation of international laws and norms, posing a serious threat to the safety and security of both Qataris and residents within its borders.

The statement also reaffirmed that “security agencies, civil defense, and relevant authorities immediately began addressing the incident, implementing necessary measures to mitigate its consequences and ensure the safety of residents and nearby areas.”

Moreover, while strongly denouncing this act of aggression, Qatar affirmed its commitment to not tolerate reckless Israeli behavior that undermines regional security and any actions targeting its safety and sovereignty. Investigations are currently underway at the highest level, and further details will be disclosed as they become available.
