Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna celebrated their marriage in a lavish ceremony in Udaipur on February 26. Following the wedding, a reception for industry friends took place in Hyderabad on March 4. The couple also visited Vijay’s hometown of Thummanpeta, where they participated in the Satyanarayana Vratam at their new home.
Vijay’s uncle, Yash Rangineni, a producer with Big Ben Cinemas, took to social media to showcase the more personal aspects of the couple’s life. He shared touching images of Vijay paying his respects at the graves of his late maternal grandparents after the wedding. Yash emphasized the humility and rootedness of Vijay, contrasting the public’s perception of glamor with the private moments of gratitude and remembrance.
In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Yash stated, “Beyond the glitz and applause, he remains rooted in values, returning to our village to bow his head and seek his maternal grandparents’ blessings.” The images depict Vijay with Rashmika, his brother Anand, and their mother, Madhavi, as they pay their respects.
Rashmika and Vijay’s journey to marriage began with a private engagement in Hyderabad last October. Despite leaks about their wedding plans, the couple managed to maintain a level of secrecy until they officially announced their nuptials, dubbing it the wedding of “Virosh,” a name their fans affectionately created for them. The celebration commenced with a pool party, followed by traditional events such as haldi, sangeet, and mehendi.
After their wedding, the couple engaged with the media and paparazzi by distributing sweets. They also announced plans for food trucks to distribute treats in various cities as a wedding celebration, along with organizing an annadanam, or food donation. Following the Satyanarayana Vratam in Thummanpeta, Vijay and Rashmika treated the local villagers to lunch.
The couple’s Hyderabad reception saw the attendance of numerous celebrities from the film industry. Prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, sent their warm wishes to the newlyweds, further highlighting the couple’s status within both the entertainment and political sectors.
