Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah: “Union Day” as the Strong Foundation for the Formation of the UAE and the Start of Prosperity and Sustainable Development Journey

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, stated that “Union Day” embodies the spirit and values of the United Arab Emirates. It is a celebration of the pivotal steps and solid foundation laid by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and his fellow rulers, which paved the way for the establishment of the UAE and initiated a pathway of prosperity and sustainable development across the nation’s rich landscapes.

On this national occasion, the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah emphasized that the day serves to honor the Union Document and the UAE’s Constitution. It is also a moment to reflect on the sacrifices and efforts of the founding fathers who invested greatly to achieve this historic union. He urged the current and future generations to recognize how the hearts, aspirations, and boundless ambitions of the Emirati people united, and how the visionary leadership of the founders paved the way for advancement in civilization, security, and well-being.

His Highness added that the signing of the Union agreement represents a timeless moment in our nation’s history—a day that fills us with pride and gratitude. It signifies the unification of will to establish a unique Constitution rooted in wisdom, justice, and love, prioritizing the cultivation of individuals and the creation of a brighter future for the residents of this land.

In commemoration of the 54th anniversary of the Union agreement, His Highness reiterated the commitment to uphold the values of unity instilled by the founding fathers. He emphasized the importance of loyalty to the nation, ensuring its strength remains steadfast like the foundation of the Union, adhering to national principles, safeguarding the country’s achievements, and intensifying efforts to enhance the quality of life for citizens while continuing the journey of progress, development, and prosperity with determination.

His Highness sent heartfelt congratulations to His Brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and to His Brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai. He also extended greetings to his fellow members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates, and to His Brother Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs. He wished continued safety, security, and prosperity for the UAE and its people.
