On Saturday evening, Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Office of the Ruler of Sharjah, attended the annual event hosted by the Sudanese Social Center in the Emirate of Sharjah. The gathering aimed to honor creative Sudanese individuals and high-achieving students of 2025 at the Al-Razi Hall within the College of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Sharjah.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of both the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Sudan. Following this, verses from the Quran were recited, and attendees enjoyed a musical performance featuring Emirati folk music by the artist Mohammed Hassan Al Jassmi. They also viewed a presentation titled “Echo of Achievement,” showcasing the center’s various activities, seminars, forums, and celebrations held throughout the past year.
The center’s president, Engineer Ahmed Omar Khogali, delivered a speech expressing gratitude to the country’s wise leadership for its generous support of all communities residing in the UAE. He extended his appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, for establishing a strong foundation for the advancement of scientific and cultural development through his constant commitment to the elevation of knowledge and scholars. He also thanked the Ruler’s Office for its ongoing support of the center’s initiatives and for honoring the event each year, congratulating the awarded professionals and the creative Sudanese individuals recognized this year.
In a speech on behalf of the honored students, Sharjah University graduate Hamad Ahmed Ibrahim expressed appreciation to the center’s management for their commitment to supporting students and recognizing high achievers. He noted that all graduates are determined to be exemplary representatives of this contribution, serving as ambassadors of knowledge and ethics. They are ready to embrace responsibility with awareness and loyalty, giving back through dedication to their work and devotion to their countries and communities.
At the conclusion of the event, Sheikh Dr. Salem bin Abdulrahman presented awards to distinguished individuals and achievers in various categories, including scientific production, media production, professional excellence, and postgraduate graduates across different fields.
Additionally, high achievers from high schools, universities, and colleges across the state were recognized, along with winners of awards from the Sudanese Social Center. The event featured a range of entertainment segments, including musical and theatrical performances, a health corner providing free medical check-ups, and activities tailored for children.
The event was attended by Engineer Omar Khogali, Murtada Al Zailai, Vice President of the center, various representatives from Sudanese clubs and councils in the UAE, along with a large gathering of family members and members of the community celebrating the honorees.
