Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council and Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Discuss Strengthening Ties

Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Bakhtiyar Saidov, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, to discuss the strategic relations between the GCC and Uzbekistan, focusing on enhancing and strengthening these ties.

Both officials expressed their anticipation for the upcoming summit between the leaders of the GCC and Central Asian countries, scheduled to take place in Samarkand next year. They also reviewed the latest developments regarding the joint action plan between the Council and Central Asian nations for the period of 2023 to 2027.

During their meeting at the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the two parties addressed recent developments in the region, emphasizing the urgent need to resolve the crisis in Gaza and to halt the serious Israeli attacks and violations against the Palestinian people in Gaza and the occupied territories.
