A member of the Syrian Interior Ministry forces was killed, and another was injured on Saturday due to an explosion caused by a bomb inside a vehicle in the town of Artooz, located south of Damascus.
Local residents reported that the explosion took place while security personnel were attempting to disarm a bomb that had been planted in the car, resulting in the death of one officer and injuries to another.
Residents also informed a news agency that forces from the Syrian Interior Ministry had arrived at the explosion site and launched a comprehensive investigation, which included reviewing surveillance footage from the area, particularly at the entrance of the town from the direction of Damascus.
The town of Artooz had not previously experienced similar explosion incidents.
