The Sharjah Civil Defense Authority, in collaboration with the Sharjah Police General Command and the National Guard, has initiated extensive efforts to extinguish a fire that broke out this morning in a facility containing flammable materials at Hamriya Port. This response involved a coordinated field operation with various relevant agencies, and so far, no injuries have been reported.
Efforts to control the blaze began immediately, working in sync with the port authority and other entities. Specialized teams and advanced equipment have been deployed to contain the flames and prevent their spread, while field teams from the police, civil defense, and the National Guard continue to monitor the situation to ensure optimal efficiency in handling the incident.
The response included significant participation from civil defense teams across the country, as well as the Ministry of Defense, the National Guard, joint aviation units, and the municipalities of Sharjah and Hamriya, operating within a unified response framework aimed at mitigating the fire’s impact and addressing it according to the highest public safety standards.
Major General Abdullah Mubarak Bin Amer, the Sharjah Police Chief and head of the local emergency and crisis team, reported that there have been no human casualties thus far. He emphasized that firefighting operations are ongoing, with the utmost priority given to protecting lives and property and implementing precautionary measures to avert any potential risks.
He further stated that specialized teams continue their efforts using the latest equipment and techniques following established response protocols.
