The Executive Council of Sharjah issued a decision during its meeting on Tuesday, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council. This decision pertains to organizing the percentage of traffic violation fines waiver in the Emirate of Sharjah, aimed at establishing a framework that facilitates the early payment of fines and enhances adherence to traffic laws.
Beginning on April 1, 2023, individuals who commit traffic violations will be eligible for a 35% discount if they pay their fines within 60 days from the date of the infraction. This waiver covers the financial penalty, vehicle impound fees, and any additional late fees incurred.
Moreover, offenders will receive a 25% discount if they pay their fines after the 60-day window but before one year from the date of the violation. This waiver applies exclusively to the financial penalty.
The decision specifies that full payment of fines, including vehicle impound fees and any late penalties, is required if payment is made after one year from the violation date. The waiver does not apply to severe traffic offenses.
