Sheikha Fatima: The UAE Is Committed to Strengthening Its Strategic Ties with Turkey

Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the “Mother of the Emirates” and President of the UAE Gender Balance Council, arrived in Istanbul for an official three-day visit to Turkey.

Upon her arrival, she was warmly welcomed by Emine Erdogan, wife of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Emine Erdogan expressed her heartfelt appreciation for Sheikha Fatima’s visit, highlighting her as a global role model in women’s leadership and community service.

### Collaboration Opportunities

Emine Erdogan noted that this visit serves as a significant opportunity to explore ways to enhance cooperation between the two nations, particularly in social and humanitarian fields, empowering women, and supporting childhood and family initiatives. She emphasized the importance of exchanging successful experiences and practices in these areas.

In response, Sheikha Fatima expressed her pleasure in visiting Turkey, praising the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly nations. She reaffirmed that this visit aligns with the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its strategic ties with Turkey, aiming to foster broader partnerships and cooperation that benefit the mutual interests of both countries, especially in social, cultural, and scientific contexts.

### Seeking Sustainable Development

Sheikha Fatima articulated her anticipation for this visit, aiming to share successful practices that serve communities and promote sustainable development in both nations.

Accompanying Sheikha Fatima during her visit is a delegation that includes Sheikh Diab bin Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidential Court for Development Affairs and head of the Sheikh Zayed Humanitarian Foundation; Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan, wife of President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Abu Dhabi Governor in the Al Dhafra Region.

The delegation also features several ministers, including Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Development; Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education; and several others, collectively representing various sectors aimed at enhancing the cooperation between the UAE and Turkey.
