The Syrian Foreign Ministry has denied reports suggesting that a security agreement between Syria and Israel is set to be signed on September 25.
In response to an inquiry from a news outlet, the Ministry’s Media Coordination and Communication Office stated that claims about any impending security agreement between the two nations are “unfounded.”
Earlier, the “Independent Arabia” reported, citing “high-ranking Syrian sources,” that Syria and Israel were expected to finalize a security deal under U.S. mediation on the mentioned date.
According to these sources, the agreement will be preceded by a speech from Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara during the United Nations General Assembly on September 24 in New York.
Additionally, Kutaiba Idlabi, the Director of American Affairs at the Syrian Foreign Ministry, noted that there will be no meeting between Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York in September, as reported by the outlet.
Recently, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal al-Miqdad met with an Israeli delegation in Paris to discuss various issues related to enhancing stability in the region and southern Syria, as stated by the news outlet.
