In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at empowering youth and incorporating them into national, regional, and international events related to climate issues, the eleventh edition of the Global Green Economy Summit will explore the role of young people in leading climate solutions through technology, entrepreneurship, and environmental initiatives. The summit will address the growing demand for sustainable and conscious investments, emphasizing the impact of younger generations in building a more sustainable future.
The Global Green Economy Summit is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and is organized jointly by the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and the Global Organization for Green Economy. It will take place on October 1 and 2, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme “Transformative Innovation: Accelerating the Future of the Green Economy.”
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Supreme Council of Energy in Dubai, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, and President of the Global Organization for Green Economy, stated, “The summit serves as a fundamental pillar for solidifying the UAE’s role as a leading hub for youth empowerment both locally and globally.”
The summit encourages youth initiatives, focusing annually on ways to enhance youth knowledge and provide opportunities, equipping them with the latest skills and tools to take on leadership and positive roles in climate action. It acts as a global platform for cultivating empowered and aware generations, supporting the investment of youth potential, facilitating the dissemination of their voices and innovative solutions to decision-makers and investors, and encouraging their skill development in future sciences as they become the cornerstone of comprehensive development and the leaders of tomorrow in their communities and economies.
Hoor Ahli, a former youth representative at COP28 and a speaker at the Global Green Economy Summit 2025, remarked, “Our generation carries the honor and responsibility of building a green economy that honors our heritage and secures our future. Sustainability is a legacy we hold and a lifestyle we choose.”
Dr. Lina Nour Al-Din, co-founder and CEO of Lemar Holding, who will also speak at the summit, emphasized, “We believe that the green transition requires collective action. By leveraging public-private partnership frameworks, we can align private sector financing with international climate goals, transforming commitments into genuine and impactful change for future generations.”
Sustainability
Seneca Kotoum, Director of Sustainability at Alshaya Group and another speaker at the Global Green Economy Summit 2025, stated, “We cannot tackle climate challenges while adhering to outdated strategies. Sustainability is no longer just a routine task.
It opens doors to business opportunities that leverage smart technologies, circular economy principles, and energy innovations, directly impacting bottom-line results while protecting natural resources. Clearly, leaders during this phase will be distinguished by their bold actions and contributions to fostering collaboration across various sectors and industries, aligning technologies with strategies and objectives, and employing green innovation to drive economic growth and environmental progress.”
