The Hostage Body Crisis Poses a Threat to the Gaza Agreement as Israel Decides to Close the Rafah Crossing

Trump: The Mission Is Not Complete… Disarming Hamas Will Happen Quickly and Possibly Violently

The UAE continues its humanitarian efforts in Gaza through the “Brave Knight 3” campaign, aimed at providing relief to the residents of the area. As part of this initiative, “Brave Knight 3” has delivered aid to the Hope Kindergarten in Khan Younis, benefiting 272 children with supplies such as milk and blankets.

Additionally, the operation has successfully distributed relief packages to displaced families in the Abidin camp in the Mawasi region of Khan Younis, assisting 2,035 households in the camp. However, observers noted yesterday that challenges had emerged that could hinder the launch of the second phase of the Gaza agreement, particularly accusations against Hamas for delaying the handover of the remaining bodies of the deceased hostages, totaling 24.

In response, Israel announced it would not open the Rafah crossing today and would reduce the number of trucks allowed to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip by half. They also prohibited the entry of any fuel, except for specific needs related to humanitarian infrastructure.

U.S. President Donald Trump urged Hamas yesterday to hand over the bodies and disarm, stating that these actions were essential for moving to the next phase of the agreement. In a post on Truth Social, he remarked, “A significant burden has been lifted, but the mission is not complete.”

He affirmed that Hamas must surrender its weapons, warning that if they did not, “we will take care of that,” adding that this would occur swiftly and potentially with force. Moreover, he claimed Hamas had communicated that it would relinquish its arms. Shortly after, a Hamas official announced that the group would be handing over the bodies of 4 to 6 hostages within hours (early today).

In related news, six Palestinians lost their lives in Gaza yesterday due to airstrikes while attempting to return to their homes. This incident coincided with accusations against Israel for violating a ceasefire, alongside an incursion by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir into the Al-Aqsa Mosque for the second time within a week.
