The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Condemns the Construction of New Settlements in the West Bank

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassem Mohamed Al-Budaiwi, expressed strong condemnation and outrage regarding the Israeli occupation forces’ approval for the construction of 22 new settlements in the occupied West Bank.

He emphasized that this approval constitutes a blatant violation and a direct challenge to the principles of international law and legitimacy. Such provocative actions are a serious escalation that poses a threat to security and stability in the region, undermining international efforts aimed at resuming the peace process.

Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed the Council’s complete rejection of any attempts to impose a new reality on the sovereignty of the Palestinian people over their occupied territories. He reiterated the commitment of the member states to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly the establishment of an independent state based on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
